A Hearty Welcome to Bischofswiesen, the home of Luge Olympic gold medals winner Georg Hackl.
When winter arrives, the snow covered countryside becomes a magical wonderland: The landscape is covered in soft, white snow crystals glistening in the sun and the sky turns a deep shade of blue. Bischofswiesen, on the edge of the Berchtesgaden National Park, captures its guests with a unique alpine backdrop, the impressive Watzmann Mountain which is Germany’s second highest peak.
For winter sports enthusiasts, Bischofswiesen is the perfect setting! The world’s best skiers and snowboarders regularly compete in international competitions at Götschen, the regional performance center for the Olympic base of Berchtesgaden. The Götschen ski area, conveniently located right next door, is a great place for beginner and expert skiers alike. Snowboarders will be in high heaven on the half pipe which is considered to be one of the best groomed!
The cross-country ski center at Aschauerweiher offers over 20 km of well groomed trails, a cross country ski school as well as ski rental. The best conditions await those who ski here thanks to artificially blown snow when needed, as well as floodlights which enable a section of the trails to remain open for night skiing. Ice curling, as well as ice skating, can be enjoyed on the groomed frozen pond, by young and old alike.
Take a break from everyday stress and come and enjoy an unforgettable winter holiday in beautiful Bischofswiesen!
We look forward to seeing you!
